encouraged to stray from the comfort of the vessel form, i constructed a necklace from sterling silver wire and a gold piece. the necklace design consists of four strands of forged components linked together with an elegant clasp. the pieces are forged from square wire and tapered on both ends. then each tapered end is hammered into a circle, allowing the pieces to be connected without solder. the texture is a hammer texture reflecting light, offering illumination and flattering the face. the original marks made from hammering are left intentionally. the clasp is fabricated. the pin for the catch has mother of pearl bezel set on the top. i particularly like the way this necklace lays on the body. it is contoured to gently rest in the curve of the neck. when worn, it completely changes in appearance.
